In light of this country’s oh-so-frightening economy and our own lackluster professions, my husband and I have set our sites east, to our little homestead on the plains of Eastern Colorado where we can gear all our efforts toward self-sustainability. We’ve got high hopes for our little piece of earth. We’re farmers by blood, urbanites by circumstance, and now we’re ready to complete the circle and move back to our roots – even if we have to drag our city slicker teenaged daughters kicking and screaming into the sunset with us…
Our aim, simply stated, is to consume less and produce more.
This blog is our story through my eyes.
ADDENDUM:Oct 2012
Ah, we had such high hopes for moving to the middle of nowhere and living off the land. Strangely enough, life had other plans for us. My grandparents needed care, my mom got sick – suffice it to say that things didn’t go the way I planned that fine day when I wrote the first “About” page on this blog. Life’s funny that way. 🙂 But we’re happy. And we’re still here.
I commend you for this courageous move.
