Today is "Look for the Silver Lining Day." It isn’t a national holiday or anything, just something I made up, but it seems wise to not dwell on my coughing and sniffles.
I’m heading east tonight, in search of rest and deep, deep sleep. I’d like to get some sewing done, but honestly, I need to stop writing these long, long lists and then kicking myself for not getting all of the items crossed off. Instead I plan to lay around and do basically nothing and if I accomplish more than that, I’ll count it as a bonus. Maybe I’ll write a different sort of list – "Things I Did" instead of the standard "Things I Need to Do." Seems potentially less punitive that way. I’ve got my Nyquil packed and with any luck, I’ll be asleep well before dark this evening, supper be damned. If the weatherman is correct (*cough cough*), the temps are supposed to be falling along with some rain, so fingers crossed it will be significantly cooler than 100.
At some point this weekend, I need to get all the thank you’s written to everyone who came to Mom’s party and also those who couldn’t make it but sent cards. I’ve put it off too long, and it would appear my little sister isn’t highly invested, so I am just going to knock them out on Sunday to get them in the mail. It’s wrong to not acknowledge such an outpouring of love and concern.
I hope everyone is gearing up for a lovely weekend!
